Bug Software Releases Latest Version of Enterprise-Class E-Commerce Platform
BugMall Shopping Cart 1.0 Includes Enhanced User Interface and XML Interoperability
Bug Software, Inc., the leading provider of e-commerce applications, announced availability of the latest version of its commerce application suite, BugMall Shopping Cart 2.5. Designed to work with the company's BugInvoicing Web Based Billing System, BugMall Shopping Cart now includes an enhanced user interface, XML interoperability and new features
for ease of administration. Other features new to the application suite include support for major operating systems -- Linux, Windows 2000, Unix, FreeBSD --i n one code base, as well as expanded database interoperability for use with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
Speeding Development through Collaboration
"The rapid evolution of our application suite has been made possible through our collaborative development model," said Cristina Bouça, president and CEO of Bug Software. "By quickly rolling features requested by our customers, we have been able to provide solutions that provide both order management functions and fulfillment
capabilities--something that other e-commerce software products are simply unable to provide."
Enhanced Standards Interoperability
Because Bug Software was founded to provide choice for its customers, the company has long ensured that its software works with major operating systems such as Linux, Windows 2000, Unix and FreeBSD. With the release of BugMall Shopping Cart 1.0, the company now offers an e-commerce suite that offers support for these operating systems in one code
base to further ease integration into legacy systems.
In addition to enhancing the user interface to allow maximum ease of use for marketing managers, Bug Software has provided more options for both site users and administrators through split shipment and payment capabilities. The software now provides a complete promotions manager, and gives administrators critical inventory management capabilities
by analyzing and managing stock behavior. With BugMall Shopping Cart 1.0, site administrators also have the ability to set access -- or permissions levels -- to product descriptions, inventory levels and customer interactions.
Solving the E-Fulfillment Problem
To ensure the accurate receiving of products, optimized inventory control and prompt shipping of goods, BugMall Shopping Cart allows orders through PDAs and cell phones, as well as online and through call centers and kiosks. The application suite is also designed to work with Bug Invoicing Web Based Billing System, a browser-based billing system
that the company introduced last year.
